Business Card Guide
What does GSM mean?
GSM stands for Grams per Square
Metre and indicates what the weight of the paper
or card would be if it were 1m x 1m in size (i.e.
1 metre square).
We would recommend a 350gsm or above
for a good quality card weight. 400gsm is generally
the maximum weight for a standard business card.

What are Spot colours?
Spot colour is not made using the
process colours. A spot colour is the colour is
printed using an ink made exclusively. Each spot
colour requires its own separate printing plate.
Spot colours are generally defined
by the Pantone Colour Printing System. (PMS) colours.
Digital Printing is different, as
the printing devices can only reproduce from the
four process colours; cyan, magenta, yellow and
black. This is generally known as CMYK.
